Terms of service

Who we are

Assay is a payment facilitator. We sign merchants up as sub-merchants under our sponsor bank's card acceptance program. The sponsor bank's merchant agreement, which you accept during onboarding, governs card processing; these terms govern your use of the Assay website and dashboard.

Pricing

You pay interchange and card network fees at cost plus the markup shown on your pricing page and statement. We give 30 days' written notice before changing your markup.

Deposits and holds

We deposit settled sales, less fees, to your bank account the next business day. We may delay deposits for unusual activity, suspected fraud, or as required by the card networks or sponsor bank, and we will tell you why.

Disputes and refunds

You are responsible for chargebacks and refunds on your sales. We notify you of every dispute and give you the chance to respond before the network deadline.

Prohibited businesses

You may not use Assay for businesses on our sponsor bank's prohibited list, which we show during onboarding.

Ending service

Either side may end service with 30 days' notice. There is no early termination fee. We may end service immediately for fraud or a card network or sponsor bank requirement.

Your data

See our privacy notice. You own your sales data and can export it any time.
